Some early pictures

I know I will look back on these fondly (and probably with horror, wondering what compelled anyone to hire me) one day, but right now its a small portfolio.

During the terrible weekend where it seemed like the entire city was going to flood in Nashville, we were stuck in the house and I got a little cabin fever. As a gift to a friend of mine, I had promised her an owl cake for her owl-themed baby shower. They were waiting to find out what they were having and the invitations read “Whooo is it?” Cute!

Anyways, in the midst of the flood I came up with this idea and did a practice run to see how well it could be executed. This is one of my favorite cakes so far and my first attempt at something mildly sculpted.

A fantastic combination of white chocolate apricot cake with white chocolate butter cream.

This was my first PAYING client! A wedding shower cake for a friend of mine.

My husband’s 30th birthday was a huge bash at our house. We went all out with invitations to the mustache-themed party. Bands, tents, and out of town friends made this an unforgettable event. In addition to playing hostess, I put together this tiered mustache cake, complete with chocolate pops to finish the look.

Vanilla cake (his favorite) and buttercream with fondant details and chocolate mustache mold pops

This was my first cake ever attempted. My sister-in-law’s baby shower was nest/bird  themed. The other girls did a great job with all the other decorations of feathers and pink & brown centerpieces. I had to do the nest twice - so completely clueless about everything! Lots of nerves but I picked up enough from other photographs that it still came out great.
